I am an independent graphic artist and designer currently working with Washington, DC – based organizations providing graphic design solutions for web and multimedia projects. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from San Carlos University in Guatemala, my country of origin. My interest in communicating ideas by combining audio and visuals led me to the world of film, where I wrote and directed the short film “Ixquic”, film that won the best short film award “Icarito” at the Central American film festival Icaro in 2010. Besides developing my career as a graphic designer, I am interested in the impact of new technologies such as simulations and interactive tools to impact social change. I have been involved in anti-discrimination efforts in Guatemala and had used my artistic talents extensively to draw attention to and fight against the inequality many people experience there.
